E-Reserve This!

"No-no words"? That's what a recent PUBLIB poster was in search of. Though the she defined no-no words as words or terms that too slangy or informal to be understood by all, I think it would be a boon to the profession if we expanded the concept to include other words or terms, such as....

Signage
WiFi
Patrons (unless they're giving away the bling, they're "users").
Digitization, particularly if combined with a noun, such as "archive", "project", or "staff".
XML, SGML or any other acronym if you've decided to bandy them about after a presentation by Howard Besser, Clifford Lynch or Jerome "Not-The-Dead-Playwright" McDonough.
E-anything (e-libraries, e-reserves, e-doughnuts, etc,.....)

And for all you special librarians out there, I give you the big four:

All I understood about that entry was the word "bling" You should hear Carol talk about Bling-Bling. It's some funny stuff :P
